STONY SILENCE: Iran Terrorises Its Own People And Its Neighbours While We Work Hard Not To Offend Them

iranevil

The terror exporting regime Iran is also no slouch in terrorising its own citizens. Indeed its one of few growth industries in the basket-case economy, with 355 executions in 2007 up from 215 in 2006.

Today twenty-nine people were executed for offences including being a public nuisance while drunk (Les Twentyman take note) and being in "illegal relationships" and alcohol dealing.

The sentences are often carried out by hanging them from cranes in full public view.

Cranes are used to lengthen the ordeal:

But why not use a gallows? The cranes have special advantages over a gallows or trap door drop, that many other countries use. A sudden drop like is used with a trap door, breaks the neck of the person being executed, and they loose consciousness immediately.

By using a crane, the loss of consciousness in avoided. The crane allows the person to be lifted up slowly, so they strangle as they dangle. The hands are tied behind their backs, but the feet are left free to kick, as the person slowly strangles and suffocates. The strangulation part takes about 3 minutes. The whole execution from beginning to end takes about 25 minutes.

In this case, the mass executions occurred outside Evin Prison, a notoriously overcrowded facility where political prisoners are often jailed.

The Iranian theocracy intends to expand the number of capital crimes to include corruption, prostitution and "aspostasy on the internet" (OC contributors take note of that one).

The regime continues to kill adulterers by stoning them. a form of capital punishment where a group throws stones at an individual until they are dead. Normally the victims are women.

Game on.
