Rumours - started here by the OC candidate identification unit - that the greatest footballer of his generation James Hird was heading to Canberra are now confirmed as true.
Hirdy has been appointed by nerdy Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as one of his Australia 2020 summit members to be held in Canberra during Passover. There are no current plans to reconvene on Christmas Day or during the AFL Grand Final.
Not that the OC would ever engage in idle speculation, but some will be saying that this might not be Hird's last trip to Parliament House.
