I DON'T THINK SO: Jacinta Allan as Deputy Premier?

The OC always gets lumbered with the bad jobs. What no else will go near, we have to wade into. So here goes.

Deputy Premier candidates include many names, but none more earnestly considered from the Left than Minister Jacinta Allan.

She was believed to be in much stronger contention than folks like Lynne Kosky, whose arrogance in handling public transport has drawn comparisons with executed French monarchs, bungling Bronwyn Pike whose name was thrown into the ring by Gavin Jennings and Rob Hulls.

The OC personally finds this hard to believe because we believe she has not exercised sound judgment in her personal dealings. (And yes, we all have our problems in that regard don't we? But we're not all putting our hands up to be Deputy Premier)

It is reasonably common knowledge that Minister Jacinta Allan is sleeping with her Chief of Staff Yorick Piper. Yorick's not a bad bloke and all but this whole thing seems to represent a terrible conflict of interests that cannot really stand. To promote her while this continues would be outrageous, preposterous and egregious, to coin a phrase.

The circumstances of how they found lerv are also pretty ugly, with both dumping long-term husband and partner who both deserved better treatment than being cheated on in that way.
